I would like to momentarily break my hiatus to tell you about a new exhibition of my friend Joan Horsfall Young's artwork, beginning tomorrow at the TAG Gallery in Santa Monica and running through February 26. The reception will be held Saturday, February 5th from 5:00 to 8:00 pm and a separate artist's presentation will take place Wednesday, February 9th at 7:00 pm. Joan's exhibition features 26 12" x 12" paintings of vegetables and fruits, one for each letter of the alphabet.
I have enjoyed knowing Joan and her husband Herb for many years thorough our mutual involvement in the California Art Club where she is an artist member. She has painted for many years and has been featured in articles in national art magazines including Art of the West and Plein Air Magazine and has been exhibited in several CAC Gold Medal Exhibitions as well as other juried exhibitions.
